Calvin Hobbs is a recurring character on Melrose Place. He is portrayed by Francis X. McCarthy.

Character Edit

Dr. Hobbs was the chief-of-staff at Wilshire Memorial Hospital, taking over after Peter Burns was fired. His first order of business was ordering a psychological evaluation on everyone at the hospital, which did not sit well with Kimberly Shaw. Later on, he would be disgusted by her divorce with Michael Mancini.

After Matt Fielding was cleared off all charges on the murder of Carol Graham, Hobbs fired Matt on the day he returned to work because he felt he had ruined the reputation of the hospital.

He was later sued by Matt and Tom Riley for discrimination and during depositions, started blurting out bigoted statements against gay people, thereby losing his case and his position in the hospital.
